First Annual Cigar Night
Superior Officers’ Association establishes children's trust
On September 7th, the Superior Officers Association will be holding its First Annual Cigar Night.
The event is to raise funds for the children of fallen officer Sergeant Tomasso Popolizi.
On March 3, 2007, Sergeant Tomasso Popolizio died during the pursuit of a suspect who had been in possession of a handgun and subsequently stole a police car.
Soon after his death, the Superior Officers’ Association established a trust fund for the children of Sergeant Tomasso Popolizio. The proceeds from the event will be will be used to grow the trust fund. But they need your help! Tickets to the event are $100 which includes an evening of fine food, music, cigars & libations. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $50 to $5,000. We are also seeking the donation of raffle items for the event as well.
Sergeant Popolizio died protecting us and now we must protect his children’s future. We urge you to help us in any way you can to make this event as successful as possible. Please contact Lieutenant Alex Martinez directly with any questions you may have by email at amartinez AT newarksoa.org.
