Cigar of the Week - Walter Briggs Torpedo Maduro.

The Maduro is medium strength with a Brazilian wrapper.  The filler is long leaf Dominican and Nicaraguan. The binder is a Connecticut Shade from Ecuador.  This cigar has sweet spiciness with nuances of roasted coffee and cocoa.  It received a 3.5 of 4.0 rating from CigarCyclopedia.  The Maduro comes in the following types and sizes:

    • Robusto Maduro (5 x 52)
    • Toro Maduro (6 x 50)
    • Churchill Maduro (7 x 48)
    • Torpedo Maduro (6 x 52)

WB Brand Cigars also produces Natural and Puro cigars.  All three blends are made by the Carlos Toranos family and aged a minimum of 36 months before they are hand-rolled in Esteli, Nicaragua by artisans and then aged an additional 12 weeks.

Dark Side- POR LARRANAGA LIMITED ROBUSTO.

What else have you been smokin' Dale?

PDR 1878 Cubano Especial Maduro Lancero - The latest blend from Pinar del Rio is just perfect in the lancero format. Rich, savory and smooth with balance and complexity in spades.

Esteban Carreras 10 Anos Maduro Toro - A beautiful square pressed toro with plenty of girth. Heavy to the hand with creamy smoke, great spice and outstanding room aroma. An elegant smoke perfect for holiday parties or just hanging out in the man cave!

Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic 1952 Petite Corona - Classic Pepin! Earthy, spicy, bold and ever so satisfying.

    Tatuaje

What else have you been smokin' Bob?

Lots of Art Decos from Miami Cigar and Company.  Still enjoying this cigar and the large ring guage.  Very nice full flavored cigar with a slight sweetness.

La Caridad del Cobre Maduro Torpedo - The Arapiraca wrapper adds a hint of sweetness to this fine cigar that exudes creamy smoke and is tasty smooth enjoyment.  These have become a real favorite of mine over the last few weeks.

Behike 56 - WOW! I want to first thank the unnamed donor that sent me this cigar!

AVO - From the CRA's Christmas Sampler Selection.

What's My Band? - #943, CAO Itallia Positano 6x50: a medium flavored cigar with a medium to mild body. Nice flavor of roasted almonds; pre-smoke aroma was mild barnyard.  Overall the flavor is nice tobacco, no sharp edges and a consistent burn.  The wrapper has some slight mottling and a nice chocolate color to it.

December Palio Cutter Contest Winner:  Bryan Wolters from Menasha, Wisconsin won the Burl Palio Cutter.  Enter the January contest now to win a black Palio Cutter.

Do you have a Herf Line Review?  If you call and leave a cigar review on the herf line and it is played on the show, you will receive a DogWatch Cigar Radio patch! You can reach the Herfline at 321-594-4373 - or cigar.radio on Skype. You can also send email to theshow@cigarmedia.tv.

Origin of the term HERF: From Cigar Craig, http://cigarcraig.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/the-origin-of-the-word-herf/

Do you have a suggestion for the unbanded cigar of the week?  Every week Bob and Dale include an “unbanded cigar” segment in their show in which they smoke a cigar without any markings and give their honest opinions.  Bob then opens a sealed envelope and discovers the cigar’s name and manufacturer.  If you have suggestions for the "What's My Band?" segment, please send them to liz@cigarmedia.tv.

Thanks to Michael Howe for bumpers and special effects in this show.

Music provided by the Figurados from their new album, "Lesson Two," and The Surfonics
