DogWatch Cigar Radio Episode #293 - Flying Solo
09-26-2010 Bob hosts the show by himself this week. Bob and executive producer Liz attended the Gables Hispanic Cultural Festival in Miami and enjoyed the "Smokin' in the Gables" cigar event while at the festival. On the way they stopped at Cuban Crafters to purchase cigars and have lunch. Jorge Armenteros from Tobacconist University is this week's guest on"What's Hot, What's Not, What's Next."
Cigar of the Week - Bad Dog 42.
What else have you been smokin' Bob?
Cuban Crafters Medina 1959 - A classic smoke from the bench of Kiki Berger, one of the top blenders in the business. A medium-bodied smoke with savory flavors of nutmeg. A smooth comforting cigar with class and highly underrated in the press.
Cuban Crafters J L Salazar
Elogio Edicion Limitada Lancero - Another fine cigar from the talented Carlos Robaina and nabil Sabbath of Elogio Cigars in Estelli. Elogio is a small (6 pairs of rollers) factory in the heart of Estelli. Carlos grows most of his own tobacco and is the master blender/roller.
Liz also smoked an Elogio lancero, a Guillermo Leon, a Di Fazio and a Cuban Crafters Cameroon.
Herf line - Martin Couch called in to review the Dona Flor line and Don Hubbell reviewed La Tradicion Perdomo Reserve Cabinet Series.
Palio Cutter Contest: Dave Wallace won a gold Palio Cutter in the August contest. Enter the September contest now to win a classic black Palio Cutter. Please remember that you must re-enter for every new monthly contest. However, it is not necessary to enter more than once per month, as multiple entries in a single contest are not counted.
Do you have a Herf Line Review? If you call and leave a cigar review on the herf line and it is played on the show, you will receive a DogWatch Cigar Radio patch! You can reach the Herfline at 321-594-4373 - or cigar.radio on Skype. You can also send email to theshow@cigarmedia.tv.
Origin of the term HERF: From Cigar Craig, http://cigarcraig.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/the-origin-of-the-word-herf/
Do you have a suggestion for the unbanded cigar of the week? Every week Bob and Dale include an “unbanded cigar” segment in their show in which they smoke a cigar without any markings and give their honest opinions. Bob then opens a sealed envelope and discovers the cigar’s name and manufacturer. If you have suggestions for the "What's My Band?" segment, please send them to liz@cigarmedia.tv.
Thanks to Michael Howe for bumpers and special effects in this show.
Music provided by the Figurados from their new album, "Lesson Two," and The Surfonics.

Anybody know how I could get a hold of Don Hubbell . I'd like to know if he wants to swap some Brazilian cigars for some Ecuadorian.
Cheers,
Martin (quito, Ecuador)
