DogWatch Cigar Radio #259 - Secondhand Lies

Cigar of the Week is the Cuban Crafters Medina 1959 Torpedo Limited.
Bob and Dale discuss the lies of secondhand smoke, optimism of the cigar industry, working conditions in the rolling salons and elitism in the review business.
In the Dark Side we smoke the JUAN LOPEZ SELECCION NO.2.
What Else Dale has been smoking: Capadura Series 898 Extra Ligero, Rocky Patel 1961, Oliva Serie V Torpedo, Liga Privada No. 9, Alec Bradley Tempus
What Else Bob has been smoking:  Capadura Extra Ligero
Oliva Master Blend 3 - We have reviewed these here before and once again, love it.  Another excellent cigar from the Oliva factory.
Tatuaje Red Tubo - Red Verocu - Tatuaje Red Tubo (Veracu)
    Tatuaje Red Tubo (Veracu)
    Origin: Nicaragua
    Size: 6" x 52 Torpedo
    Wrapper: Nicaragua
    Filler & Binder: Nicaragua
    Body: Medium to Full
    Strength: Medium to Full
Nestor Miranda Special Selection: Nestor Miranda Special Selection Super Toro Oscuro   $126.99
Also a Don Pepin Garcia blend made in Esteli, Nicaragua are the Special Selection line. These are said to be the line that Nestor Miranda would personally hand out to friends and family. These are expertly handcrafted from a blend of extensively aged tobaccos from Honduras, Nicargua and Costa Rica, with a Nicargauan binder and Oscuro wrapper. The Nestor Miranda Special Selection Super Toro is a medium to full bodied cigar with a rich and woody flavor, tinged with notes of coffee and a touch of sweetness on the finish.
    KRISTOFF LIGERO MADURO TORPEDO
    Size: 6.5 x 52
     Dominican-made cigars.
60% Ligero to the blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos
This cigar was a real disappointment.  When I first started smoking these I really enjoyed them.  The current examples demonstrate poor bunching (unequal softness) and a very disjointed and sour taste that is unpleasant.
We smoke an unbanded surprise from Eddie DeJong of Vanderburgh Humidors.
