DogWatch Cigar Radio #248 - Cigar Conversations with Single Malt Bob

Cigar of the Week - Camacho Connecticut Figurado – Released at the end of May this year, Camacho brings out their first and only Connecticut wrapped cigar in response to consumer requests for a Camacho on the lighter side. However, there’s still plenty of flavor and spice, just not as much strength as is usual from the line. Perhaps some of the Oettinger Davidoff influence? The line is available in 6 formats – the 54-42 x 6.3” Figurado we feature this month, and a Robusto, Toro, Churchill, a “60” and the 11/18 Figurado. The filler tobaccos in the blend are Honduran and Dominican and a Honduran binder is used. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian grown Connecticut leaf that is refined and silky. Early reports peg it at mild-medium bodied with some recognizable Corojo base flavors and a smooth finish. Available in sturdy wooden boxes of 25 cigars, our Figurado retails in the $7-$8 range.

Bob plays an excerpt from the upcoming Cigars One To One interview with Jose Blanco of La Aurora cigars, discussing this months producers pick cigar, the 1495 and other topics.

Also, entertaining cigar discussions with Colin Ganley, Ken Sayward(MobileStogie) and a special Dark Side interview with Tim Abbott and Greg Kirk of 25 Smokin Figurados.

Bob reviews an unbanded cigar that turns out to be the Excalibur by Hoya de Monterrey and a special unbanded from Colin.

Bob recommends the Indian Tabac TeePee as a value cigar and also discusses:
Rocky Patel Sun Grown Vintage 1990 Torpedo -

In pursuit of the finest tobacco's the world has to offer, Rocky Patel uses this 12 year old Honduran Broadleaf wrapper along with a 5 year old filler and binder

Very nice interview with Tim and Gregg! Nice job on the rest of the show too. Can't be easy flying solo, but you pulled it off nicely.
