Can't understand why you are so negative towards the plastic band. I think it's a great idea, especially for a band-collector. No more tearing and broken bands to salvage, just a plastic band to last forever (if it doesn't bleach of course). I sure hope everyone starts doing this in the future.
Perhaps it is the loss of tradition and the proliferation of plastic in everything we buy these days. I could take the tree-hugger stance and talk about recyclable products and how paper actually returns to the earth quicker than plastic. I mean a cigar is a totally organic product, why add inorganic material to it? For the band collector it would probably be a positive as you mentioned, for me, it seems like we are giving up some of the charm from simpler tiems. But things continue top change and this will not be the last by any means. Thanks for listening to the show.
