I just do not want them to do it by breaking the rules. You mention Joe at FullersPullers, Joe is not a discount house like some others and makes his business on service and selection. Bravo for him, we just need more like him.

Don Hubbell comments on This could be Heaven or Hell

And what of those of us nowhere near a Brick and Mortar? I'm grateful for the honest ones on-line, i.e. FullerPullers. Joe is committed to his customers, he’s careful to get me good products at a fair price. I know my purchases are looked after by a professional that understands a satisfied customer is going to come back for more. Sad to say some on-line shops are not as committed, and I do not give them my cigar business.

Don Hubbell comments on IPCPR Wrap up

"Esencia - My go-to cigar in times of trouble and despair." I concur with Bob on this observation- What was a box of Esencia Petit Coronas is rapidly disappearing from my coolidor. The craftsmen of BOTL have a found a nearly perfect level of spice and a flavor profile that fits right into my inexperienced palate, with flavors that alternate between leather, cedar and an pleasent unexpected savory flavor that brings to mind the taste of beef on the grill. My only concern is that I will smoke 'em all up before I can get more into the coolidor. This small ring gauge format consistently delivers every time.

Bob comments on IPCPR Day Three - Wednesday

I find General Cigars approach to producing innovative products. Utilizing the team approach may not be new but formalizing it and bringing to the forefront the leaders is new. General is making (in my opinion) a strong statement in the cigar business. I applaud them for the efforts and look forward to trying the products that have resulted.

Bob comments on IPCPR Day 2 - Tuesday

Your angst is justified my friend. Try a sampler pack from a reputable merchant- For a newby cigar smoker, sampler packs are a good way to experience a wide range of cigars to find out what you like and dislike , but you gotta expect a few duds as well as great ones too.

#12. Size doesn't matter. Think a small ring gauge cigar can't deliver? Try an Escencia Petit Corona!

Troy Kiefer comments on A Tale of Two Cigars

I find that if I am feeling generous, I'll give a cigar a second chance. It just depends on how pissed I was at the time. I've had a few cigars that were either plugged or weirdly sour and it happened at a time when I REALLY wanted a cigar. That pisses me off and I remember the bad experience for a long time. Even if I give a cigar a reprieve from my 'dead to me' list, its a very tenuous thing. That next one I smoke better be one of the best damn cigars I've ever tasted.

The price affects my feelings about giving a cigar a second chance as well. There are just too many cigars out there that are consistent and that I know I like to be messing around with a stick that I've already had a bad experience with. I am more likely to give a $4-5 a second chance that I am a $10-12 cigar. My cigar budget only goes so far to risk wasting on a suspect stick instead of a sure thing.
