    I hate Mensa quizzes. It never fails that every time I sit down on a plane I have to search frantically for the damn airline magazine to see if I can conquer the puzzles. I answer 80% of them but always get pissed off at the rest. Who the hell really cares if you can find the word Panther in a sentence? I know the Hen cost some poor girl $4. That's good enough for me. It should be good enough for Dr.SoinSo that wrote the challenge.

    Things are heating up quickly on the legislative front in 2010.  Of immediate concern is the proposed federal tax increase on pipe tobaccos of 775% (HR4439).  Go to the IPCPR Legislative Action Center or PipesMagazine.com to sign the online petition and email your legislators in protest of this tax.

    Surely you’ve seen “report cards” given out by so-called “Watchdog” groups to legislators and other public officials assigning a grade to certain areas of their performance. These report cards are given on a number of subjects, for example, fastidiousness with tax dollars (which I personally encourage) or supporting “green” initiatives. Typically these are the work of political advocacy groups that use the opportunity to bolster politicians they support and “fail” politicians that run against their political grain.
